If you get the error LeapFrogConnect.cfg file did not install on your computer. To install it, right click on the below attached file and save the file to particular folder:
On a 32 bit computer: C:Windowssystem32MacromedFlashFlashPlayerTrust
On a 64 bit computer: C:WindowsSyswow64MacromedFlashFlashPlayerTrust
If the FlashPlayerTrust folder does not exist on your computer, create that folder, then save the attached file to the folder. Download the attached file from the below attachment link.
Attachment: LeapFrogConnect.cfg

That response wasn't helpful (I'm having the same issue the other person is having). We can download the attached file you mentioned, but can't save it into FlashPlayerTrust folder as it's indicating we're not the administrator on the computer, but in both our cases, it's our computers and we are the administrators.

Leapster 2 Software Download For Mac
I found a way to copy the file into the folder, but even after pasting the file I still get the same darn error!
To gain access, navigate to the FlashPlayerTrust folder - don't open it, right click and menu pops up, select 'properties', then select the tab 'security' and select group or user names 'all application packages' and 'users' and then 'Edit' (may need to do the different groups separately), then check boxes for all permissions below. Not sure which group/username did the trick, or whether other groups should be edited as well.
Again, after pasting the file I still get the error that the .cfg file is missing!

Please try these methods and check:
Method 1: Try to perform clean boot and check if it helps.
Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

Note: Refer 'How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting' to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.
Method 2: The issue, generally arise due to .DLL file corruption in Windows settings. So, in order to scan your system health, I would suggest you to run a System File Checker tool (SFC) scan to check for any files corruption:
- Go to Start, click All Programs and open Accessories.
- Right click on Command Prompt in the Program list and then select Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
- In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow

I got the same error, but as directed in your original message I am not given the option to 'save as' when I right click on the file. How do I first go about that? Also, directions for the clean boot process, how am I able to do this for Windows 10?

For Windows 10 - If you have no right click - Save as option, Select the '. . .' icon in the top right corner, and select Open With Internet Explorer.
There you will have the option to right click and save your file.
Also for Windows 10, you have to change the compatibility to Windows 10 and Run as Administrator.
Let it install the requested updates, and restart the program.
That should resolve your issue

So I'm having this same issue however when I go and look the file is there. What is up with that? I had LeapFrog Connect on my computer previously so I'm wondering if when I upgraded it just didn't get removed but then why is it now giving me issues with reinstalling the application? UGH. My son's device needs an update and I can't do that until I get this figured out.
